PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Cushman & Wakefield is a leading global real estate services firm that manages retail, office and commercial properties in its vast portfolio. One of its signature properties, the Halifax Shopping Centre, is Atlantic Canada’s largest multi-building shopping centre and the premiere shopping destination in Halifax.
Black & McDonald (B&M) was invited along with two other service vendors to bid on a project to replace the cooling towers at the shopping centre. B&M’s extensive experience handling mechanical and electrical projects gave it an advantage and ultimately won it the project.
B&M SCOPE OF WORK
The key requirements of the project were to meet a tight time deadline, complex logistics including the continual operation of the chiller plant, and the efficient and safe execution throughout the process. The plan worked seamlessly including scheduling, documentation, logistics, off-site preparation, fabrication, multiple crane set-ups, mobilization, the staggered installation of the six towers, and start up and commissioning of the towers.
