PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Mohawk College’s Joyce Centre for Partnership & Innovation is the cornerstone of a renewal of technology labs and classrooms. At 96,000 sq. ft. the centre is a showcase in environmental sustainability and Hamilton’s first zero-carbon institutional building. It has been designed to incorporate leading-edge energy harvesting and conservation technologies and techniques.
B&M SCOPE OF WORK
Black & McDonald (B&M) was the electrical and communications contractor responsible for elevator machine power supply, wiring, lighting, fire alarm, life safety and receptacle systems, rooms, pits and secondary levels, power, AV/security, communication and life safety provisions for cabs, and conduit and wiring to and for associated control, dispatch panel equipment, transfer switch equipment and a 500 kW photovoltaic system package.
