K2 Wind Farm
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The K2 Wind Farm was constructed in the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh, which is located along the shores of Lake Huron. The wind farm is adjacent to the Kingsbridge 1 Wind Operation, which was constructed in 2006. The project included the installation of 140 Siemens wind turbines, one of the largest wind energy projects in Ontario.
The K2 Wind Farm was designed to provide enough electricity to meet the average annual power needs of approximately 100,000 Ontario homes.
