PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Veridian Connections, a wholly owned subsidiary of Veridian Corporation, is the seventh largest municipally owned electricity distributor in Ontario. The company is responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to more than 116,000 residential and business customers in the cities of Pickering and Belleville, the towns of Ajax, Port Hope and Gravenhurst, and the communities of Uxbridge, Bowmanville, Newcastle, Orono, Port Perry, Beaverton, Sunderland and Cannington.
B&M SCOPE OF WORK
Black & McDonald (B&M) performs high-voltage maintenance, oil analysis and infrared scanning at various districts and substations for Veridian Connections. B&M’s projects include design, procurement, installation setting development and commissioning of the new systems. Other special projects include turnkey substation construction.
B&M services include detailed inspections and testing on:
- Protection & control systems
- SCADA systems
- Power transformers
- Switchgear & circuit breakers
- Infrared & ultrasonic inspections
- Insulating oil analysis
- Electrical safety training
- Electrical and mechanical trade support services
