PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Minas Energy (Minas), a locally controlled, privately owned corporation, was incorporated in 1932. Minas is an industry leader in sustainable energy solutions, education and public outreach. The St. Croix Hydro facility is owned and managed by Minas. This 5 MW generation system was built in the 1930s and still serves a nearby industrial load.
When the hydro system needed a grounding update, Minas called on Black & McDonald (B&M) to take it on.
B&M SCOPE OF WORK
B&M’s scope of work for this project consisted of supplying and installing grounding solutions for a 25 kV power system. The technical upgrade required strict adherence to all safe work procedures and a complete site safety plan that contributed to the success of this project.
