PROJECT DESCRIPTION

An ATMS needed to be upgraded and reconfigured after the Ministry of Transportation established a new traffic operation centre at 97 Arrow Road in Toronto. Black & McDonald (B&M) was awarded the contract to supply, install and test new equipment for fibre optic communication and internal network for the new CTCTOC.

B&M SCOPE OF WORK

As the General Contractor on this project B&M was responsible for all aspects of the work for this contract including:

  • Supply, installation and testing layer 3 – 10 GB IP switches for CRCTOC, DTOC and various nodes on various highways, including field UPS units and cabinets
  • Supply, installation and testing fibre optic communication cables on new and existing conduits, including civil work
  • Reconfiguration of existing MTO fibre network for the various highways above mentioned
  • Supply, installation and testing internal network, KVM switches, network clock system, port servers and leased line modems at CRCTOC
  • Supply and install OCEFs, additional fibre cabling routing trough and voice/network cables at CRCTOC
