PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Kansas City is a fifteen-county metropolitan area spanning the border between the states of Missouri and Kansas. With a population of 2.34 million, Kansas City ranks as the 37th largest city by population in the U.S. and the 23rd largest by area. The city has 93,000 street lights that are maintained by Black & McDonald (B&M).
B&M SCOPE OF WORK
B&M provided the design/build services to upgrade the city’s street light system to meet IESNA standards. Maintenance and service are also provided for the traffic signal lights in the City of Kansas City. The services included:
- 24/7 service truck support
- Computerized maintenance management system
- Electrical service
- Emergency service
- Help desk and central dispatch services
- Interior/exterior lighting maintenance
- Life cycle and asset management
- Maintenance staffing (full-time and part-time employees, available 24/7)
- Project management
- Provision of specification development, tendering, selection and supervision of all subcontracted work
- Waste management
- Work order management system
- Turnkey asset management of street lights and traffic signal infrastructure
- Installations, upgrades & replacement
