Kansas City Airport Maintenance
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Dedicated by Charles Lindbergh in 1927, Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport was the city’s first airport and one of its busiest. Originally home to commercial aviation, the airport attracts a large number of corporate, charter and recreational flyers.
Located on 695 acres, the airport is just across the Missouri River from Kansas City’s business center. Airport users have easy access to all interstate highways that serve the metropolitan area, as well as other major thoroughfares. The airport also serves as an ideal refueling stop for air travelers thanks to its central geographic location.
B&M SCOPE OF WORK
Black & McDonald (B&M) was hired to provide maintenance and emergency services on existing 15 kV S&C distribution switchgear and primary feeds, both underground and overhead, to twenty-four (24) pad mounted transformers serving the complete facility, including administrative buildings, hangar facilities, and private office buildings. Emergency services included all repairs and replacement of fuses, lightning arrestors, primary cables and terminations as may be needed to restore service to the facility in the event of an outage.
BENEFITS TO CLIENT
B&M completed all projects on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction.
