Bayer Motor Control Center Installation
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Bayer is an innovation-driven company with a long tradition in research and development. Leveraging its expertise to address global challenges and aiming to improve people’s lives around the world, the Bayer Group mission, “Bayer: Science for a Better Life”, is the foundation of what Bayer Crop Science strives to achieve within the agricultural sector. Its contribution to society is based upon helping ensure an ample supply of high-quality food, feed, fiber and renewable raw materials.
B&M SCOPE OF WORK
Black & McDonald (B&M) was contracted to supply and install a new back-to-back Motor Control Center (MCC) for the newly expanded Sencor Building. This building is in a classified location with a hazardous rating of Class 1 Division 2 requiring special materials and equipment. We supplied and installed extensive runs of cable tray tech cable, including special rated connectors throughout the process area. These cables would feed 25 new 480 volt 3 phase motors that powered agitators and pumps. New storage tanks were installed with approximately 200 new instrumentation devices. These instruments were wired through Bayer’s Delta V Control system. We also supplied and installed new general purpose lights and receptacles on all five floors. The tank farm piping required heat tracing.
BENEFITS TO CLIENT
