PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Kansas City Power and Light Company is an electric utility company serving the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. It is a subsidiary of the publicly traded utility Evergy. The Bank of America Substation is a key component of its electricity transmission infrastructure.
B&M SCOPE OF WORK
Black & McDonald (B&M) was awarded a contract with Kansas City Power & Light to cut in a 161 kV Transmission Line to a new Bank of America substation. B&M’s scope of work on the project consisted of:
- Installing seven new steel transmission structures
- Installing four foundations for the transmission structures
- Installing conductor to the crawl down structures in the new Bank of American substation
